I’ve been drawing pictures for as long as I can remember.
Like a lotta’ kids I went through a dinosaur phase, a monster phase, an airplanes, submarines and rocket ships phase – the works. Never grew out of it. After shirking a school advisor’s perfectly practical advice to pursue a business major in lieu of art I discovered a new passion in college – graphic design. The same enthusiasm I once brought to scribbling brontosaurs and spaceships I now bring to solving business communication problems, albeit with a bit more focus and refinement. Developing engaging ways to tell stories with typography and pictures never gets old.
Great stories live within everyone but not everyone is equally adept at telling them. The same is true for business and non-profit organizations. Even those with a clear vision of their mission often have difficulty transforming high aspirations into engaging brand identities and marketing messages. I help them accomplish that.
I enjoy brainstorming with senior managers, marketing teams, fellow designers, print and web producers, writers, photographers and illustrators to understand client goals, to conquer challenges, and to entertain and educate our audiences.
And when called upon I can still impress nieces and nephews with my triceratops-rendering skills.
